Explore South Downs National Park on foot
Twenty walks explore the South Downs National Park from its famous chalk cliffs and rolling downland to wooded hills, river valleys, historic towns and quiet villages across Sussex and Hampshire.
The selection begins with Beachy Head and Seven Sisters Country Park, then follows the Downs through Wilmington, Lewes, Ditchling Beacon, Steyning, the Arun Valley and Slindon before continuing west to Droxford, West Meon, Meonstoke and Winchester. The guide reflects the National Park’s mix of geology, wildlife, archaeology and settlement history, with routes chosen to make the landscape approachable in manageable half-day outings.
Each walk provides clear route directions together with mapping, photographs and practical information to help plan the outing.
