Explore Lake District on foot
Twenty-two manageable walks explore the Lake District without requiring high mountain summits or difficult terrain, combining lakes, villages, valleys, woodland, coast and historic places in routes designed for a wide range of walkers.
The selection includes Buttermere, Coniston and Yewdale, Eskdale to Ravenglass, Hawkshead, Keswick, Pooley Bridge, Rosthwaite, Rydal, Scout Scar, Shap Abbey, Tarn Hows and Wasdale Head. Most routes are under six miles and deliberately avoid prolonged steep ground or scrambling, while still giving a rich introduction to Lakeland scenery and heritage.
Each walk provides clear route directions together with mapping, photographs and practical information to help plan the outing.
