Explore Derbyshire on foot
Twenty family-friendly walks explore the 'off Peak' side of Derbyshire, showing that the county has far more to offer than its famous share of the Peak District.
Routes include Ashbourne, Ashover, Belper, Bolsover, Calke Abbey, Carsington Water, Chesterfield, Darley Abbey, Elvaston Castle, the Erewash Valley, Five Pits Trail, Melbourne, Shipley Country Park and Wirksworth. The book draws particular attention to Derbyshire’s industrial and social history, including the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, while keeping the walks approachable for families and dogs.
Each walk provides clear route directions together with mapping, photographs and practical information to help plan the outing.
